In 2006, Ricky Gervais released [[The Podfather Trilogy|three FREE podcasts]] as "a thank you" for those who supported their previous paid-for podcasts. Since then, these podcasts have been openly shared on Pilkipedia because 1) They were Free and 2) "A thank you to the fans".
However, in May 2008 Gervais decided to re-release these podcasts and charge money for them.
Within hours of the podcasts being re-issued with a price tag and without first informing Pilkipedia, [[Glyn Hughes]] (Ricky Gervais' webthug) contacted Pilkipedia's hosting company and had the site suspended for providing links to copyrighted material. And that is why our site has been offline for 26 hours.
