Do We Need 'Em?

Do We Need 'Em was a feature in which Karl would ask a scientist or an animal expert if the world really needs a particular animal, such as jellyfish or snails. Most of the experts, as well as Ricky and Steve, told Karl that every animal has a knock-on effect, that all creatures are integral to their particular ecosystem. This feature began as Pilkington, with the Parkinson theme tune, and with Karl interviewing someone who claimed to have been visited by a spirit.

Karl ended the feature after just a few weeks because he was convinced that scientists were conspiring against him and would never agree to rid the world of any animal.

Although the feature has not returned, Karl continues to question the need for certain animals, inventions, people, etc.
