David Brent's Book of Native American Wisdom is a supporting character in the hit TV show The Office. It's a collection of philosophers, writers, thinkers and Native American Wisdom. With a foreward by Duncan Goodhew.

History

Series 2

David cited and used an extract from the book as a discussion point in his first, and only, motivational speech. (Motivation)

"The Office Values" and "Realising Potential"

David later whipped out the book to read some quotes from "the real sages". David soon got distracted and wondered if anything from Pocahontas was in the book. (Realising Potential)

Excerpts and Analysis

"If all men were to bring their miseries together in one place, most would be glad to take each his own home again, rather than take a portion out of the common stock." It's saying, for the first time, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Don't look over your neighbour's fence and go "oooh, he's got a better car than me... oooh, he's got a more attractive wife".

"There is no death... only a change of worlds."
