Dysgu Saesneg gyda Ricky Gervais!
August 13th 2012
Ricky has released the first episode of the new "Learn English with Ricky Gervais" video podcast, the first edition is subtitled in Welsh and can be downloaded on iTunes. The lads are back to help all those Welsh people out there who struggle to ask for milky tea or buy kippers, when visiting England.

A Tall Tale!
August 2nd 2012
Our very own Pilkipedia Social Media Manager, “StopWhinging”, recently had an encounter of the freakishly tall kind when she ran into Stephen Merchant – in doing so fulfilling the fantasies of many of our female forum members! SW was exiting a Los Angeles cinema last night when she spotted something from the corner of her eye.

“His tallness and eyes gave him away instantly… and the girls,” she told Pilkipedia. Though she disappointedly added that he did not try to put any of his famous moves on her.

SW could not confirm reports from Ricky Gervais that Steve has a “funny smell,” stating “I don't think he had a funny smell. I didn't hug him, so I'll confirm/deny that next time I run into him.” Our lucky Pilkipedienne managed a quick word and a photo with Smerch, who answered a couple of questions the forum has been asking for a while.

Why is he not present in some of Ricky’s more recent works, including “Learn English With Ricky Gervais”? According to Smerch, he’s been flat out with other projects, which SW speculates could relate to his HBO show or even another film. And does Smerch visit Pilkipedia? Apparently not, according to SW, though he promised her he’d check it out after her assurance “we’re not crazy.” Speak for yourself, SW.

"Learn English" = Quite Good?
August 1st 2012
Ricky has released a short preview clip of the upcoming online series "Learn English with Ricky Gervais", a video incarnation of the podcasts and audiobooks we've all grown to know and love. From what we can gather, the series appears to take inspiration from the 'Ricky Gervais' Guide To...' series, as a wacky comedy endeavour under the guise of 'education'.

Long-term 'Pilkipedians' will immediately notice that lengthy funnyman Stephen Merchant does not seem to be taking part in the series, which may be cause for concern for die-hard fans. However, it is not yet clear whether this is a short break while Steve works on his stand-up and HBO pilot, or something more worrying.

In any case, the first episode of "Learn English with Ricky Gervais" will be released for free on iTunes on August 14th. You can see the preview clip here.

What do you make of all this? Let us know on our dedicated RSK forum.

Mr & Mrs Pilkington
June 28th 2012
Shortlist has released an exclusive video featuring Ricky and Karl recreating the classic game show ‘Mr & Mrs’. The Twenty-minute video shows Ricky trying to guess Karl’s answers to basic questions such as “What is your favourite book?”

Most die-hard Pilki fans will know the answers immediately, but this is a great excuse to revisit some classic K-man moments such as his interpretation of Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful tonight”.

Check out the video here and see how many you can get.

Derek Wins Best Comedy
June 7th 2012
The pilot episode of Derek picked up ‘Best Comedy’ at the 2012 New York International Short Film Festival. Ricky has stated that this award means more to him than any of the Bafta’s, Golden Globes or Emmy’s he has accumulated over the years. Ricky has almost finished writing the first series of Derek and plans to begin filming in September 2012, with plans for an early 2013 airdate.

Ricky has stated that he loves Derek more than any other character he has created. Let us know what you think on our forum.

The Boss Is Back
May 28th 2012
Ricky has been hard at work writing the upcoming series based around his Derek Noakes character. Unsurprisingly, Channel Four has commissioned a full series of 'Derek', after the pilot episode drew 2.3 million viewers back in April. There has also been confirmation that Kerry Godliman will reprise her role as Hannah, the long serving nurse and friend to Derek. Ricky has stated via his blog that there will only be only one series of Derek and possibly a special.

Let us know what you think about Derek on our forum.

Manco Polo
May 1st 2012
Sky1 has officially confirmed production of An Idiot Abroad 3: The Short Way Round. The two sixty-minute specials will follow Karl Pilkington and Warwick Davis as they follow in the footsteps of legendary explorer Marco Polo. The specials will see the pair travel from Italy to China, with a distance of approximately 5000 miles. When discussing other famous travelers and the people that accompany them, Karl stated that "I've been given an Ewok".

An Idiot Award
25th April 2012
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts released its nominations for the best TV shows of the last year today and featuring under the brand new category of Best Reality and Constructed Factual is the second series of An Idiot Abroad. The show is up against faux-reality programme Made In Chelsea, The Young Apprentice and BBC3's Don't Tell The Bride. Fingers crossed this time that Karl has some decent trousers, Stephen can find a woman to take and Ricky picks up his eighth BAFTA mask.

You can share your thoughts with us on the forum.

Then I Took An Arrow In Me Knee…An' That.
4th April 2012
Have you ever wanted to see Karl in a video game? Well thanks to the online community Deck16, you won't have to wait much longer. They are currently developing a mod for The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim that will allow players to add the K-man to the game. Karl will be able to offer his words of wisdom throughout the game as it includes many audio samples from various podcasts and radio shows. To get an idea of how this may look, check out this great fan-made video. This mod is not available yet, but updates will be available through their website. Just don't forget your RAM packs...

Derek Pilot Takes Off
29th March 2012
The Bafta screening of Derek took place on Tuesday and has generated several reviews, the most important one being from the Pilkipedia Forum's own ThisTricycle who describes his experience here. Baldy Boyd Hilton of Heat magazine tweeted "Great response at Bafta screening to Ricky Gervais's Derek" and Chortle and The Radio Times have both given positive if tentative reviews. The pilot airs on Channel 4 next month.

Derek Coming To Channel 4 In April
23rd March 2012
Those of you anxious to see Karl in his first acting role need not wait much longer, the 30 minute comedy drama will air on Channel Four this April. On March 27th BAFTA will be holding a screening and Q&A with Ricky Gervais, unfortunately tickets are no longer available. There had been rumors of Channel Four turning down Gervais' latest series, however they were recently quoted as saying, "Channel Four is very excited to be working with Ricky Gervais on this new project and it's wrong to say we have rejected a series. The pilot will be on TV in April and then there'll be further discussions about the potential for a full series."

He's Only Gone And Written It Down The FFFFFF
9th March 2012
It has been announced that Karl will be releasing a follow up to 2010's An Idiot Abroad: The Travel Diaries of Karl Pilkington. The book is set for an autumn 2012 release and will document Karl's various 'bucket list' adventures. It was recently announced that pre-production has already begun on An Idiot Abroad 3:The Short Way Round, which will likely see a 2013 release.

The first travel diary, published by Canongate Books, was officially reviewed by Pilkipedia.

Are you excited for Mr Dilkington's Fifth book? Tell us on our forum.

Were You A Tall Baby?
7th March 2012
Stephen Merchant has donated a picture of himself at Five months old to Bristols Southmead Hospital. This photo will be part of Southmead's "Thousand Smiles" initiative created by the hospitals Shine Together charity. The plan is to create a two meter wide mosaic of babies born in Southmead's maternity unit. Not only will Smerch be a part of the mosaic, Steve's Dad and sister have also donated photos of themselves as babies.

Check out our forum for more Ricky, Steve and Karl.

It Figures.
23rd February 2012
Hey you! Yeah, YOU. Would you like to own your very own Ricky, Steve and Karl action figures?! You would?!? Well, you can't. They don't exist. BUT, you can take a look at these fantastic mock-ups created by the Pilkipedia forum's own MMatt. There's Ricky here, Karl here and Steve here. You can check out the discussion in the forum thread.

Until these are actually released on to the market, please continue to recreate the Xfm shows using buckets with faces drawn on, as usual.

Our talented forum members have been showing their artistic side recently by contributing to The Pilkipedia Community Art Project. Each member was allocated a specific section of this photo and a blank area in which to recreate it. Twenty-five forum members took part in this task, resulting in a fantastic collage of the K-man. Fusing Flashdance with MC Hammer COUNTS
28th January 2012
David Brent's famous dance from The Office episode 'Charity' has made an unlikely appearance in an advert for the new Nike Fuelband. The incredibly brief clip can be seen at around 0:41 on this recently released video on Nike's official YouTube channel. This advert was alright, not as good as his first one though.

Slag it off on our forum here.

No Good Forum
24th January 2012
Ricky has taken to Twitter and his blog in recent days to share his thoughts and criticisms of fan forums that seem to exist only to denounce him and his recent work. Though he did not specify which of the numerous online encyclopaedias and communities based around Karl Pilkington, Stephen Merchant and Ricky Gervais he had an issue with, we here at Pilkipedia whole-heartedly agree with his stance and hope you will join us in the continued celebration of their work.

Why not leave some of your demented ramblings on the Pilkipedia Forum

Golden Globes 3
13th January 2012
The Golden Globes are this Sunday and our Ricky is hosting for the third consecutive year. Much has been said in the build up with Ricky promising that this will be his most controversial and combustible turn yet. Are you looking forward to watching the ceremony and seeing Ricky give the delicate egos of Hollywood a bruising? Or are you a bit fed up of the hype, the talk and Ricky giving out awards instead of winning them?

Best Performance By A Human Male
11th December 2011
Pilkipedia would like to congratulate Stephen Merchant on winning Best Performance By A Human Male at the 2011 Spike TV Video Game Awards. He starred as Wheatley in the hit video game Portal 2. This role is considered amongst many gamers and industry experts to be one of the best performances in video game history. Steve spent approximately 16 hours recording for this part, with most of the dialogue being ad-libbed.

Steve: Best Human Male?
4th December 2011
Steve has been nominated in the intriguingly named Best Performance by a human male category in the Spike TV Video Game Awards for his turn as robotic naïf Wheatley in the smash hit game Portal 2. You can let the good people at Spike know that Steve has your support by voting at this link.

The awards take place on the 10th December, we are unaware if Steve will be attending the ceremony but it will be televised live on Spike if you've got a spare two hours and little else to do. It's right after the '1000 Ways to Die' marathon.

Hello Daveys!
22nd November 2011
Our good friends at Dave (The home of witty banter) have recorded an exclusive podcast with Comedy Love-God Stephen "Steve" Merchant, in which they discuss his history in stand-up, meeting Ricky and his romantic endeavours. You can find the interview on iTunes here or listen to it on the Dave website here

Steve on his looks: "I once went in a barbers and took a picture of Christian Slater and asked 'can I have a haircut like that' not realising that the problem was that I looked nothing like Christian Slater"

The Canucket List
19th November 2011
An Idiot Abroad will make it's return to Canada tonight as the second series begins on the Discovery Channel. American Pilki fans will still have to wait until the 21st of January 2012 for the new series. Although the second series has now finished in the UK, it looks like we might be getting more K-man sooner than we thought. Ricky stated on his blog that he "Spent the day with Karl working on a new project".

What do you think the new project will be? An Idiot Abroad christmas special? The TV show with Warwick? More podcasts? Let us know on our forum.

Gold3n Glob3s
17th November 2011
So after annoying half of Tinsel Town and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association swearing he would never win a Golden Globe again, Ricky has been announced as the host of the Golden Globes award ceremony for the third year running. The show will be broadcast live on NBC who clearly decided that ratings for the three hour backslapping marathon were more important than the fragile egos of millionaires and superstars. Are you looking forward to Ricky lampooning Hollywood once again or do you think it will merely be an exercise in how much he can shock?

BBC2. 9.30pm. Tonight.
10th November 2011
It has been over six years since Ricky and Steve delivered us a brand new sitcom, but tonight will see the debut of Life's Too Short on BBC2 at 9.30pm. In case you've been living in a cave, the show follows the life of Warwick Davis, an actor and talent agent, who is struggling with a huge tax bill, messy divorce and faltering career. It's a mockumentary that apes the trashy celebrity-focused 'reality' shows prevalant across television at the moment. Ricky and Steve appear in cameos as does Johnny Depp, Liam Neeson, Sting, Right Said Fred and Barry from Eastenders.

Merchant Comes Alive
7th November 2011
Steve Merchant's right in the middle of his UK stand up tour, with dates running all the way into the festive season. You can see him to the left pictured with Pilkipedian Liammyles, sporting his 'Monkey on a P' T-shirt, which was a close runner-up in the Pilkipedia Logo competition. Have you seen Steve in stand-up? Or had a picture taken with our Bristolian hero? Then let us know by voting in the poll below or posting on the forum!

Munge Fuddling Flantastic!
1st November 2011
Ricky Gervais has revealed via his Twitter that he and Karl are to record a new audiobook. The audiobook, yet to be given a title, will feature Karl reading from a Flanimals book and Ricky answering his questions. Nothing else is known about this project yet, but as the Flanimals movie gets closer to release I'm sure we'll be hearing more soon.

The M Word - Day Two
21st October 2011
Following a chat with top chum Robin Ince (Lucky boy!) and disabled rights campaigner Nicky Clark, Ricky seems to have realised that maybe not everyone who was unhappy with him using the word 'mong' was a 'PC Brigade hater'. You can read a blog from Ince here and the interview with Nicky Clark here. Hopefully Ricky can put this episode behind him and go back to his day job of appearing on any American TV show that will have him. Play a record.

Take a Sad Mong and Make it Better
19th October 2011
So Mr Gervais has been causing quite a stir on Twitter with his refusal to accept that the word 'mong' may still have connotations that apply to the mentally disabled. Accusing any dissenters of being "jealous of his success" or "the PC brigade", Ricky's descent into Richard Littlejohn-esque self parody has been quite spectacular, however it has not stopped thousands of sycophantic Twitter followers rushing to support him. Will this episode blow up in Ricky's face? Or are there enough thick people and their thick kids still buying his DVDs to keep him going for a few more years?

Casting For Derek
8th October 2011
Casting has begun for the pilot episode of a possible sitcom based on Ricky's Derek Noakes character. Ricky recently revealed that he is working on a sitcom and possiby even a movie for Derek and he joked on his blog that he "got the lead role again!". This will be a big change for Gervais who generally plays characters with personality traits very similar to his own.

Derek originally appeared in a short many years ago. Ricky can also be seen doing a character very Derek-like in this Comedy Central promo.

Gervais' 140 New Characters
30th September 2011
It appears as though Ricky has finally bitten the bullet and has returned to Twitter! A previously outspoken critic of the social media juggernaut, Gervais once claimed that there was "something a bit undignified about adults using it". However, following in the footsteps of recent convert and pal, lanky funnyman Stephen Merchant, Gerv appears to have given Twitter a second chance.

Tweeting from his account @rickygervais, the svelte comedian returned after a year's absence with the message "Hello. Anybody there? How can I prove it's me though? This was Patrick Swayze's problem in Ghost."

An Idiot Award
29th September 2011
Karl Pilkington's An Idiot Abroad has been nominated for a National Television Award. The show has some tough competition in the "Factual Programme" category such as 'MasterChef' and the hit BBC show 'Top Gear'. Series 2 of An Idiot Abroad premiered on Friday night with ratings of 1.33 million viewers, which is 500,000 more than last years season premier. The award show will air on ITV1 on the 25th of January 2012.

The best thing about this award is that YOU can decide who wins. So vote for An idiot Abroad here, just think of the acceptance speech! If you enjoyed last weeks episode, discuss it on our forum here.

Karl's Rock Banned
21st September 2011
Ricky Gervais has stated that in the upcoming series 2 of An Idiot Abroad, Karl will perform a "Glee-style" rendition of Van Halen's 1984 hit "Jump". The American rockers took such a dislike to the cover that they have banned it from being shown in the US and on the upcoming DVD release. According to Ricky, they will be able to broadcast Karl's performance in the UK due to a blanket agreement with Sky.

JUMP on over to our forum and discuss all things Pilkington.

In just under two weeks our favourite mancunian will be returning to the small screen in An Idiot Abroad 2: The Bucket List. However, here at Pilkipedia we have our sights set much higher. Enthusiastic Pilki fans have been editing famous movie posters to include none other than the K-man himself. The full gallery can be viewed here and you can keep track of all the latest entries on our forum.

The Bod Couple
2nd September 2011
Ricky Gervais has hinted at a possible TV show featuring Karl Pilkington and Warwick Davis. Further details of the show are yet to be revealed, but we do know there has been interest from an unspecified TV network. This wont be the first time Karl and Warren....I mean Warwick....have met, the two met in 2010 for Ricky's Science DVD.

Are you excited for the possible new show? Sound off on our forum.

Office-ially Hilarious
26th August 2011
The UK version of The Office has placed 6th in IGN's 25 funniest TV shows of all time. The British sitcom managed to edge out a number of highly acclaimed TV shows such as Friends, Cheers and Saturday Night Live. Even Ricky's good friend Larry David was no match for The Office, with Curb Your Enthusiasm placing 12th.

Do you think 6th place was fair? Let us know on our forum.

Ricky Finds New Porpoise On Television
25th July 2011
It has been known for quite some time that Ricky Gervais is set to guest star in an upcoming episode of Family Guy. Steve Callaghan, executive producer of the popular animated sitcom, has revealed that Ricky will be lending his voice to a dolphin befriended by Peter Griffin. The announcement was made during the 2011 Comic-Con in San Diego. Ricky is no stranger to animation, he has already appeared in 2 episodes of The Simpsons and his very own series The Ricky Gervais Show (HBO).

Good Lord, Ricky!
22nd July 2011
It was revealed earlier in the week that Ricky Gervais and Clyde Phillips, best known for his work on the hit TV series Dexter, are to write and produce a TV series named 'Afterlife'. Early reports stated that Ricky is set to have a cameo in the series, however he has since revealed that he will be playing none other than the big man himself. Ricky Gervais, well known for his outspoken atheism, will be taking on the role of God in the new TV show. 2009's The Invention of Lying touched on the subject of religion and was subsequently met with much criticism from religious groups. However, Gervais has stated that this is not an "atheist comedy".

Ricky's Modern Dwarf-are
14th July 2011
According to Ricky's blog, an unspecified news source has misinterpreted a quote from Stephen Merchant stating that during the filming of Life's Too Short, Ricky yelled "FIGHT!" at the end of a take. The article claimed that Ricky has been encouraging the dwarf actors to fight each other on set. The two brawling actors in question were in fact Warwick Davis and Steve Brody.

Let us know what you think on our forum. Hopefully Warwick is staying clear of Ricky's accidental n-n-n-n-knee.

Ay Karl-umba! (Don't Have a Karl, Man)
19th May 2011
According to Gerv's blog, Karl has finally hit the heights of fame and is set to appear on a future episode of The Simpsons. Said Rick; "Oh, he's also excited about being on The Simpson's. I won't give the joke away but they are featuring a little clip of The Ricky Gervais Show in a future episode. He said, "good that init?" Trust me. That's him being over the fucking moon." Of course, it is widely known that the Simpsons' folk are long time Karl fans, so it was only a matter of time until Gervais talked them into including the bald manc.

Ricky embarks on "Spy Kids" adventure.
7th May 2011
Things are looking "ruff" for everyone's favourite comedian and award show host, as Ricky Gervais is set to voice a robot dog in Robert Rodriguez's latest "Spy Kids" movie. "Not only am I lending my voice to Spy Kids, but they can keep it. I'm sick of it." said Gervais, who is known for his tendancy to take on less reputable roles as a 'favour' to his celeb mates. Also set to star in the next installment of the series are Jessica Alba, Joel McHale, and "Spy Kids" stalwart Antonio Banderas.

For those baffled by Ricky's decision to take on yet another questionable movie role, discussion is underway over on our forum.

Does Ricky Go Out Late?
12th April 2011
There was a Ricky Gervais-themed storm on Twitter today as thousands of people viewed, retweeted and disapproved of comments by Daily Star on Sunday columnist Joe Mott. As you can see in the picture to the left, Mott made some insensitive remarks regarding Ricky's recent weight loss, implying that were he gay some might think he were suffering from AIDS.

Hair (transplant) of a Chinaman?
1st April 2011
According to The Sun newspaper our beloved K-Man is considering spending some of his new found TV wealth on shedding his baldy round-headed image by splashing out on a £20,000 hair transplant.

They quote a 'source working on the second series of his hit show An Idiot Abroad' as saying "...following his new found FAME Karl has found more and more people are stopping him in the street to make comments about his baldness and peculiarly round head, he is SICK of it. He hopes a hair transplant may stop some of the ABUSE and perhaps make him more appealing to producers and casting directors as he looks to cash in on his new celebrity status."

The Sun even went as far as mocking up photos of what Karl would look like with a variety of celebrity hairstyles including Justin Bieber, George Clooney, Jedward and even chubby funster Ricky Gervais himself.

Xfm shows no longer available on Pilkipedia
11th March 2011
A sad day is upon us. Following communication from the legal department of Global Radio (parent company of Xfm), we have had to remove all instances of the Xfm shows (and Xfm logo) from the wiki. Due to this awareness of copyright infringement, it is now against this website's rules to post links to any content originally broadcast on Xfm, on either the wiki or forums, without express permission from Global Radio. It is enforced equally to the rule regarding any piracy of RSK content.

Truly sorry for any inconvenience caused.

See a full list and buy tickets starting 9am Friday here. The PR campaign has begun with two short adverts from LiveNation (here and here), and continues with scheduled Friday appearances on Heart radio's Have a Heart appeal at 10am and The One Show at 7pm on BBC1 - of course all under the pretense of Comic Relief.

Steve takes his stand up to new heights!
20th February 2011
The plodding progress of three years of sporadic, low key stand up gigs from Steve may be finally stepped up a gear. At ASDA.com and Play.com, a "Stephen Merchant Live DVD" is available for pre-order, set to release in November. The only live show Steve is booked for currently is 18th March at Bush Hall, but check back at the Stephen Merchant Stand Up thread in our forum for all the latest as the summer season approaches.

In the nearer future Steve will be back on American television on Conan this coming Thursday. It's scheduled as a junket for An Idiot Abroad, but there will surely be a passing mention of Steve's minor roll in Hall Pass, released on the 25th.

Will to take the 'Arness at Dunder Mifflin?
12th February 2011
According to his blog, Ricky Gervais has thrown "Arrested Development" star Will Arnett's name into the hat to take the reins as the new head honcho of the US Version of The Office once Steve Carell walks away at the end of the current season. “Had a little meeting with NBC about various things and recommended Will Arnett for a regular in The Office,” wrote the bearded comedian. “Thoughts? I think he’s amazing.”. Initially, there had been whispers that Gervais himself might have been in the frame to take over, but it now appears as though these rumours have been dispelled.

The news has been met on the Pilkipedia Forum with excitement. What do you think, is Arnett the man for the "G.O.B."?

An Idiot Abroad 2: The Bucket List
1st February 2011
Karl Pilkington appeared on The Richard Bacon show on BBC 5live this afternoon to exclusively announce that a second series of An Idiot Abroad would be filmed and broadcast this year. The new series will feature Karl travelling the globe to take part in activities that are considered 'things you should do before you die' otherwise known as A Bucket List. There are few other details available at present, but you can listen to all of them here and remember to check out the Pilkipedia website and forum for further developments as they happen.

The Cod-father asks fishermen to stop wasting Extras
25th January 2011
Ricky Gervais today joined fellow entertainers Stephen Fry & Paolo Nutini in joining the "Fish Fight", a campaign aimed to reduce the waste of unwanted catch by fishermen. "It isn't fair on fishermen or fish-eaters and it certainly isn't fair on fish." said the sleek funnyman. Many celebrities have already signed the petition, which aims to prevent dead and dying fish being thrown back into the sea by fishermen, and members of the public are also urged to get involved, over at fishfight.net

For all things Ricky, Steve and Karl why not check out our wondeful forum?

A Media Merchant Abroad
24th January 2011
Steve decided to do a few PR bits and bobs since he popped over to the US for the Golden Globes. He seemed cool and calm on Jimmy Fallon last Wednesday, perhaps because of the luck he's been having with beauties like January Jones and Rose Byrne. He then went on Opie and Anthony's satellite radio show, where he was taken aback by some proper American vulgarity. He's made his way to premiers and art openings, and has generally been a bit of a media hot shot. With speaking rolls in two major films coming out in February (Gnomeo and Juliet and Hall Pass), a voice-over in Portal 2, and TV shows on air and in development with Gervais, things are looking up for our wurzel, lanky lady's man.

Get a Globe of This!
23th January 2011
Well, Ricky's done it again! After causing controversy at last years Golden Globes, the chubby funster has once again stirred the press into a frenzy, with his outrageous gags allegedly raising the ire of multiple Hollywood celebrities... and Tim Allen. While many outlets have been outspoken in their denouncement of Gerv's behaviour, many celebs have also come out in support of the rotund funnyman, including his mate David Letterman, and A-list actors Christian Bale & Steve Buscemi.

Has Ricky gone too far this time? Is the world overreacting to harmless comedy yet agan? Make your views heard on our forum!

Great Scott! Brent to dance his way onto US screens!
20th January 2011
Multiple entertainment outlets have reported this week that Ricky Gervais' zany Office alter-ego, David Brent, is set to appear in the US version of the show. The Office showrunner Paul Lieberstein has been quoted as saying: "It's a little more than if you blink, you'll miss it, but if you don't set your TiVo right, you'll miss it,". This suggests that Gervais will appear in no more than a cameo, but even a short appearance by the Slough slavedriver will have fans of both versions of the show salivating at the prospect of an awkward David Brent/Michael Scott face-off. Ricky himself today confirmed the appearance via his blog.

Ricky is set to appear in "The Seminar", airing on 27th January on NBC.

Of course, for further discussion on The Office, David Brent and all things Ricky, Steve & Karl, you can check out our forum!

The rain in Spain falls mainly on the BRAINS?!?

Season 2 of The Ricky Gervais Show begins 14th January at 9PM on HBO

Leave the Globe Trekking to Karl, Gervais is Globe Hosting!
6th January 2011
Next weekend Ricky will reprise his role as Golden Globe host for the second and reportedly final time. Last year's performance "split the critics" but drew in sizable viewing figures. Ricky said in an interview to the LA Times, "I didn’t want to be totally safe and anodyne and boring, so I pushed it a bit. I think I could go a little bit further. Comedy comes from a good or a bad place, and I think with all the things I’ve said, I think people know that it’s done with good intention, it’s done with a twinkle in my eye and a smirk."

The awards ceremony will air live 16th January at 8ET/5PT on NBC.

Steve welcomes in 2011 with a new website!
30th December 2010
Since the old website became unusably outdated, Steve sprung for an upgrade and now has a wonderfully content filled site at stephenmerchant.com. Though there is no absolute confirmation, the articles about his work seem to be written entirely by Steve, including an in depth FAQ about how to make it in the comedy world. Perhaps most exciting for Steve fans is the inclusion of a news feed, which will hopefully make the now impossible task of finding Steve's live gigs a little bit easier.

Finally, to discuss the changes and share in the excitement, check out our forum!

Karl Cracks Christmas
17th December 2010
Christmas is famously the bane of Karl's existence. Since his days on Xfm, he's shown his spite for the season by getting his girlfriend a packet of 100 condoms and generally decrying the "forced fun" he's had to endure. But has Karl changed since he's gone abroad? Does he have a better appreciation of holidays? In this new video podcast, Karl chats with Ricky about his knowledge of the nativity and the true meaning of Christmas.

Series Two Toons
16th December 2010
The second animated series of The Ricky Gervais Show premiers 14th January at 9 pm on HBO. According to Ricky, "We’ve taken a lot more liberties with the direction of the piece. It really adds to the audio now...the first episode will straightaway show you the difference with the ambition of the animation let alone the things we’ve chosen. And we’ve gone everywhere with all the stuff we’ve ever done. The first one we sort of did it in order of the first season. Now we have just picked best chunks and woven it in and it’s great."

An Idiot Abroad to air in the US in the new year!
13th December 2010
Science Channel, owned by Discovery, has bought broadcast rights to An Idiot Abroad with a tentative air date of 21st January. However, as a family-friendly educational channel, some cuts and changes to the programme will have to be made.
