Dysgu Saesneg gyda Ricky Gervais!
August 13th 2012
Ricky has released the first episode of the new "Learn English with Ricky Gervais" video podcast, the first edition is subtitled in Welsh and can be downloaded on iTunes. The lads are back to help all those Welsh people out there who struggle to ask for milky tea or buy kippers, when visiting England.

A Tall Tale!
August 2nd 2012
Our very own Pilkipedia Social Media Manager, “StopWhinging”, recently had an encounter of the freakishly tall kind when she ran into Stephen Merchant – in doing so fulfilling the fantasies of many of our female forum members! SW was exiting a Los Angeles cinema last night when she spotted something from the corner of her eye.

“His tallness and eyes gave him away instantly… and the girls,” she told Pilkipedia. Though she disappointedly added that he did not try to put any of his famous moves on her.

SW could not confirm reports from Ricky Gervais that Steve has a “funny smell,” stating “I don't think he had a funny smell. I didn't hug him, so I'll confirm/deny that next time I run into him.” Our lucky Pilkipedienne managed a quick word and a photo with Smerch, who answered a couple of questions the forum has been asking for a while.

Why is he not present in some of Ricky’s more recent works, including “Learn English With Ricky Gervais”? According to Smerch, he’s been flat out with other projects, which SW speculates could relate to his HBO show or even another film. And does Smerch visit Pilkipedia? Apparently not, according to SW, though he promised her he’d check it out after her assurance “we’re not crazy.” Speak for yourself, SW.

"Learn English" = Quite Good?
August 1st 2012
Ricky has released a short preview clip of the upcoming online series "Learn English with Ricky Gervais", a video incarnation of the podcasts and audiobooks we've all grown to know and love. From what we can gather, the series appears to take inspiration from the 'Ricky Gervais' Guide To...' series, as a wacky comedy endeavour under the guise of 'education'.

Long-term 'Pilkipedians' will immediately notice that lengthy funnyman Stephen Merchant does not seem to be taking part in the series, which may be cause for concern for die-hard fans. However, it is not yet clear whether this is a short break while Steve works on his stand-up and HBO pilot, or something more worrying.

In any case, the first episode of "Learn English with Ricky Gervais" will be released for free on iTunes on August 14th. You can see the preview clip here.

What do you make of all this? Let us know on our dedicated RSK forum.

Mr & Mrs Pilkington
June 28th 2012
Shortlist has released an exclusive video featuring Ricky and Karl recreating the classic game show ‘Mr & Mrs’. The Twenty-minute video shows Ricky trying to guess Karl’s answers to basic questions such as “What is your favourite book?”

Most die-hard Pilki fans will know the answers immediately, but this is a great excuse to revisit some classic K-man moments such as his interpretation of Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful tonight”.

Check out the video here and see how many you can get.

Derek Wins Best Comedy
June 7th 2012
The pilot episode of Derek picked up ‘Best Comedy’ at the 2012 New York International Short Film Festival. Ricky has stated that this award means more to him than any of the Bafta’s, Golden Globes or Emmy’s he has accumulated over the years. Ricky has almost finished writing the first series of Derek and plans to begin filming in September 2012, with plans for an early 2013 airdate.

Ricky has stated that he loves Derek more than any other character he has created. Let us know what you think on our forum.

The Boss Is Back
May 28th 2012
Ricky has been hard at work writing the upcoming series based around his Derek Noakes character. Unsurprisingly, Channel Four has commissioned a full series of 'Derek', after the pilot episode drew 2.3 million viewers back in April. There has also been confirmation that Kerry Godliman will reprise her role as Hannah, the long serving nurse and friend to Derek. Ricky has stated via his blog that there will only be only one series of Derek and possibly a special.
