The only Upheld Complaint referenced in the show is for 17 November 2001 or the "Infamous Cock Episode" as it has been dubbed by fans.
Reason For Complaint
Steve starts a discussion on animal trivia as he is aware Ricky is a fan. One of the questions asked is 'which is the only bird with penis?'. Ricky and Steve then enter into discussion on this topic, using the word 'cock' as frequently as possible. Karl, worried about the consequences, disapproves but Ricky simply replies that when he says 'cock' he means a male bird. Unlike The Ricky Gervais Show podcast which is uncensored and distributed over the Internet, the Xfm shows were broadcast on the radio between 1pm and 3pm on a Saturday, meaning swearing and sexually explicit discussions are not tolerated.
Discussion About Complaint
During the 30 March 2002 show, Ricky and Steve discuss an article in 'The Guardian' newspaper which mentions the complaint as well as details of what was said on the show. After reading the article, Ricky references Radio1 DJ Sara Cox claiming; he 'loves Cox in the morning'.
Award
During the 30 November 2002 show, after reading an email from Richard Anderson who frequently insults the show, Ricky mentions that the show is award winning, referring to a bronze award received at the Sony Awards. It is then discussed whether or not they would have received a silver if they hadn't discussed the subject for so long
