10 November 2001 is the earliest known recording of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant on Xfm following their return to the station after the Capital Group takeover. The recording is incomplete, accounting for just 20 minutes of the 2 hour show. The series began several weeks before this episode, with some remembering the 06 October 2001 episode because producer Karl Pilkington forgot to turn the microphones on.

Karl: I was walking home the other night, and I was thinking about it, and do you worry that when you're old you will be on your own?
Steve: Well, Karl, I'm glad you've brought this up, because for me, I mean, a lightweight frothy entertainment show, on Xfm, on a Saturday afternoon, is exactly the place where I want to discuss the desperate lonely future that's inevitably coming my way. (0:05:33)
