Hello Ladies is the title of Stephen Merchant's debut stand-up comedy show. A sitcom of the same name is currently in development by HBO.
Tour
The Hello Ladies tour began in 2011 and consisted of numerous shows spread across the United Kingdom. The tour also included special dates in the United States and Australia.
Themes
As the title suggests, the main theme of the show is Steve's lifelong quest to find himself a suitable girlfriend. The show also includes many stories from Steve's childhood, some of which can be heard on the Podcasts and Xfm radio shows.
Hello Ladies Stand-up DVD
The DVD of the 'Hello Ladies' show was released on November 14th, 2011. The show was filmed at the Oxford New Theatre, and has a runtime of 78 minutes.
HBO Sitcom
US television network HBO has ordered 8 episodes of a sitcom based on the 2011 Stand-up show. It will feature Merchant's character, Stuart, trying to pick up ladies in Los Angeles. Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky will serve as executive producers for the show, best known for their work on the US version of The Office.
The first show will air 29 September 2013 at 10:30pm Eastern time.
