The Monarch is a nightclub that Steve went to on his birthday, in 2002, with his mates before he comes in the following day for the show. Also, he mentions the club in a podcast several years later, where he mentions not often going to big clubs "like the Monarch". Steve describes it as trendy indie club full of 'cool' kids.
