Scottish Widows is an investment company based in Edinburgh, Scotland and now a subsidiary of the Lloyds TSB Group.

The Scottish Widow first appeared in a television advert directed by David Bailey in 1986. There have been three 'Widows' to date: Deborah Moore 1986–1994, Amanda Lamb 1994–2005 and Hayley Hunt 2005-present. On the ''fill in location here'' show, Steve referenced the Scottish Widow as needing to move on and perhaps consider seeing him. He thinks she may have quite a bit of money stashed away and that she has kept fit underneath her billowing cape.
