Jellyfish

"Jellyfish are 97% water. We should give them another 3% and make them water. It angers me." - Karl Pilkington

Jellyfish are the long time nemesis of Karl Pilkington. Karl's earliest Jellyfish based memory comes in the form of his childhood holidays to Porthmadog, a seaside town in Wales. There were many jellyfish washed up on town's shore and Karl noticed that some locals were driving over them with their bikes. Karl didn't feel bad for them.

Happyslapped

Many years later, while on one of his many foreign trips Karl was stung by a jellyfish. Karl was annoyed and perplexed by this attack as he felt it was unprovoked and it was almost like he was happyslapped. Karl has frequently questioned the need for Jellyfish in an ecosystem, much to the confusion and eventual frustration of Ricky and Steve. Based on this theory, Karl did a weekly feature where he questioned the use of Jellyfish and other animals called Do We Need 'Em?. Ricky and Steve used Karl's unusual thoughts on the invertebrates as a way of re-introducing him to the listening audience at the beginning of their second series on Xfm
